Guards cuirassier regiments were part of the 1st Guards Cavalry Division. Cavalry Guards and Life Guards Equestrian regiments, located in St. Petersburg, were the 1st brigade. Life Guards Cyrusir His and Her Majesties regiments were the 2nd brigade and were quartered in Tsarskoe Selo and in Gatchina.
