EK Castings figurine M127 German Landsknecht, XVI Century
The dragoon officer is dressed in fashion in the mid-17th century. Such clothing and equipment was common in Northern and Central Europe during the Thirty Years' War (1618-1648), as well as in England during the Civil War (1642-1660).
The German Landsknechts, sometimes also rendered as Landsknechte (singular Landsknecht, pronounced [?lantskn?çt]) were colourful mercenary soldiers with a formidable reputation who became an important military force through late 15th- and 16th-century Europe.
Consisting predominantly of German mercenary pikemen and supporting foot soldiers, they achieved the reputation for being the universal mercenaries of early modern Europe.
