M247 - Artilleryman - West. Europe - XV century
Some of the early artillery pieces were called bombardments and canons. From them there were terms "bombardment" and "cannonade". Specialists serving such guns, began to be called bombardiers and gunners. After each shot, the barrel bore was to be washed with a mixture of water and vinegar with a bannik - a sheepskin brush on a long pole.
The artillerymen could wear both ordinary townspeople clothes and service livery of distinctive colors. Often the jacket and trousers were two-colored, and on the chest there was an identification cross or emblem of the seignior. On the head of the artilleryman is a helmet with a raised saloon visor. Outfit - a leather purse on the belt and a canvas bag for various trifles, as well as a dagger.
