EK castings M183 - Moine-soldat, 1185
In addition to samurai, in Japan there was another class of warriors. Buddhist monks (?????) served to large monasteries and temples. These warlike monks were not at all kind and humble - on the contrary, legends went about their ferocity! In 1185, the monks helped the Minamoto clan defeat the Taira clan. The warrior-monk is clothed in classic samurai armor about-yo-yo, the head is covered with a characteristic white hood-shawl. In his hand he holds a white banner with the image of Congododzi - the deity, the keeper of the three Kumano temples.
