Col. L.-G. Ulan regiment. Russia, 1910-14
 
Under Emperor Nicholas II (from 1894 to 1917), the Guards Cavalry consisted of two Ulan regiments: the Life Guards of Ulan Her Majesty the Empress Empress Alexandra Feodorovna and the Life Guards of Ulansky of His Majesty's Regiment. The Ulanas of Her Majesty in 1894 was named the Life Guards Ulan Regiment, established on December 12, 1809. 
 
Before the First World War, the regiment was stationed in Tsarskoye Selo and was in the 1st Brigade of the 2nd Guards Cavalry Division. His Majesty's regiment was formed in 1817 in Warsaw. The chief of the regiment from November 1894 to March 1917 was the Emperor Nicholas II himself. The regiment was quartered in Warsaw and was included with L-gv. Grodno Hussar Regiment in the Separate Guards Cavalry Brigade.
